Our Senior Pastor is Dr. John Crowder. A native of Waco, TX, he earned a BA degree in Psychology at Baylor University. During his time at Baylor he served as the Youth Pastor at Bellmead First Baptist Church through the mid eighties. It was also during that time that he met Lisa Patterson. They were married in August of 1988, just in time to begin seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. During their time at Southwestern, John served as the Pastor’s Intern at First Baptist Church of Burleson. In 1991 John and Lisa accepted their first pastorate in Kopperl, TX. After serving there three years, they moved to West in October of 1994. A few months after moving to West, their daughter Ashley was born. In 2002, John received his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Truett Seminary at Baylor University. John is the president of the West Area Ministerial Alliance which he co-founded in the mid nineties. He is a big fan of the Christian rock group Petra, Lady Bears Basketball, and Dr Pepper. Come by and see the Dr Pepper collection he has in his office!
