![]() ![]() Women of the Vine The purpose of Women of the Vine is to build up the body of Christ, specifically the women of our church; and to reach out to the women in our community. This is in keeping with the vision and mission of First Baptist Church of West, which is one of evangelism and reaching every home in northern McLennan County and southern Hill County. This will be done in a spirit of love. As the cross points up (build up) and stretches out (reach out) and the grapevine envelopes and wraps around the cross; so we the task force of Women of the Vine claim as our mission to be used of the Lord to develop a network of teams and small groups that will encourage spiritual growth within the church body and empower these spiritually mature women to reach out to every home in our community. These teams and small groups will vary from prayer and bible study groups to hospitality, mentoring, and homemaking programs. Our goal is to find a place for every Christian woman in our church to be involved in a ministry. We will also provide quarterly functions of fun, food, fellowship and spiritual growth as well as an annual retreat. We will accomplish all of this under the direction and guidance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who said, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My Name, He may give to you. This I command you, that you love one another." John 15:16-17 |
